Single Family Home Renovation and Addition

A family of five had been searching for a home in the north neighborhoods of Chicago for quite some time. They had their hopes set on a modern home to raise their young family. They settled on an aging Victorian on an over-sized lot. Lacking funds for a complete tear down, they sought plans for an addition, remodel and rebirth as a modern home. Thus began the task of eliminating small halls and rooms for an open, airy interior. The basement was lowered to create height for: Craft room Family room Exercise room Music room Laundry room Craft room The first floor was enlarged to create: Living room Dining room Powder room Family room Kitchen with hidden Pantry / Office Mud room The second floor was also enlarged to include: Bedrooms (3) Bathrooms (2) Study area Master Suite The attic was remodeled to include: Guest suite Playroom with hideout and fire-pole to Study
