Graysville, Ohio / United States of America
A weekend lodge for an Ohio couple began 25 years ago as a 900 square foot, 3-story tower. Thirteen grandchildren and several additions later, this modern yet rustic lodge can accommodate the entire family. The 110 acre site is located next to the 500 acre Wayne National Forest and is completely isolated from neighbors. The house, perched on the crest of a wooded ridge was located to take advantage of the views of the rolling landscape. The structure’s post and beam construction and corrugated metal siding reference the vernacular farm structures of Southeastern Ohio. An addition completed in 2012 includes a great room, expanded kitchen, and a master suite on the ground floor. The original tower has been converted to bunk rooms for the grandchildren.
