R+A has experience with client market sectors including K-12 education, mixed-use office retail development, corporate office interiors, multi-family residential, institutional and private club architecture and interiors.


Risinger + Associates Inc is currently seeking a qualified candidate for position of Staff Designer. This self-starting, bright, energetic candidate will be working in a collaborative environment on multiple project types from retail to education to corporate office interiors. R+A’s Staff Designer position requires performing in a self-directed manner in all aspects of the building design process, including preparation of presentation materials, schematic design, design development and contract documents, model building, rendering and construction administration activities within an established budget, schedule, site and programmatic requirements. This candidate will have mentoring from the principals and their respective project managers. Functions of the Staff Designer position include: - Preparation of design studies and options - Preparation of drawings for contract phases from schematic design through bid/permit, including details, sections, elevations and schedules - Demonstration of creative judgment and design application skills in preparing client presentation materials, including design sketches, renderings, models and graphics - Adherence to firm and project goals of excellence in design, execution, and sustainability - Production of amendments, addenda and bulletins as well as Construction Administration assistance. - Preparation of design and technical options for project team review. - Performance of calculations according to specified standards and code reviews - Performance of site analysis, including survey of existing conditions and field measurements. - Organization and planning to execute tasks - Self-checks work for accuracy, omissions, legibility and conformance to firm standards.


Required Background and Skills: - Degree in Architecture - Experience 3-5 years - Basic knowledge of project design and construction documentation production - Knowledge of construction materials - Graphic, 3D visualization skills including demonstrated performance in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe - Effective verbal and written communication skills - Collaborative and professional work ethic - LEED AP or within 6 months of hire - Preparations in progress for ARE Competitive compensation will be based upon the candidate’s experience.
