We are an Owner's Representative firm specializing in high-end residential construction projects seeking a Project Manager. For more than 20 years, our firm has provided essential services to clients throughout the entire construction process, resulting in a stellar reputation for advising Owners of distinctive properties across the country.


Successful Project Managers in our firm are construction professionals who are self-driven and seek to quickly prove themselves so they may work with minimal supervision. They possess a deep knowledge of pre-construction, construction and post-construction processes. They are well versed in scheduling, building methods, mechanical systems, and technically integrated home systems. They are also self-starters for whom attention to detail, thoughtful problem solving, and tight organizational skills are ingrained. Professionalism, succinct oral and written communication skills, discretion, and the ability to function in a team environment are hallmarks of their craft. Previous experience in field work is mandatory.

Specific duties include but are not limited to:

Project Management

• After training with a Senior PM or Project Executive, handle projects largely autonomously

• Operate as primary contact for project, client, consultants and trades

• Manage owner consultants

• Direct and evaluate direct reports

• Prioritize project tasks and deadlines

• Hold internal and external teams accountable to deadlines and commitments

Schedule Management

• Maintain intimate knowledge of tasks and sequence

• Identify missing tasks, long lead time materials or processes, factors that could delay schedule or are out of sequence - then take steps to maintain schedule

• Track overall schedule, current progress and project critical path; act to avoid delays

• Build recovery plans to bring schedule back on track

Financial Responsibilities

• Review invoices, pay applications and change orders to assure pricing is accurate, fair and comprehensive

• Research, interview and recommend consultants and contractors

• Lead contractor RFP, bidding, and selection process

• Qualify scopes and pricing provided by General Contractor, subs and consultants

• Provide non-legal review and recommendations on AIA contracts

Quality Assurance

• Make shop and fabrication visits to assure products are built to specification

• Perform inspections, recognize defects, and recommend remediation for any aspect of construction – concrete, rough framing, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, roofing, drywall, painting

• Research, interview and recommend vendors, fabricators and tradespeople


Required qualifications:

• 12 or more years of experience that demonstrates the skills above

• Work experience within a professional office environment

• Field experience as a tradesperson, supervisor or superintendent

• Degree in building or construction management, architecture, or engineering

• Full time access to a car and reside in the Chicagoland area

• Willingness to travel both locally and out of state
