Field Guide is an architecture practice. We make spaces for work, art, and living. Founded in 2017, our work ranges in scale from exhibition design to single-family residential projects to commercial interiors. We are located in Oak Park, Illinois.
ABOUT THE JOB
Our wide-ranging practice requires broadly skilled team members. Applicants should be experienced in all facets and phases of design and should be comfortable developing both conceptual design proposals and technical details. The successful applicant will lead and coordinate architectural projects through all phases of design, from schematic design through construction administration. Construction documents experience is essential and experience in Revit is preferred.
In addition to construction documentation, the selected candidate will also produce a wide variety of graphics and visuals, including architectural renderings and environmental graphics.
As a small, emerging practice, we seek a candidate who is independent, self-motivated, and who has strong communication skills. A collaborative approach is a must. The selected candidate will work directly with and report directly to the firm’s principal.
Work schedule flexibility is an option for qualified candidates.
REQUIREMENT FOR APPLICANTS
Undergraduate or professional degree in architecture
3 to 5 years of architectural work experience, ideally in residential and/or commercial projects
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit and Sketchup.
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, vRay, and MS office products.
Excellent communication skills, including an ability to build rapport with clients, contractors, staff and other collaborators.
Experience and knowledge of Chicago building code
Understanding of building systems.
Attention to detail and the ability to manage one's own time to meet deadlines
Fluent in English
Authorized to work in the U.S
Licensed or actively pursuing a license
