Project Architect is a proactive individual who works independently or oversees a small team preparing design development through construction documents for a single architectural project or portions of a larger architectural project.

Once documents are completed, the Project Architect will work with the project's Project Manager to provide construction administration services through construction completion. The Project Architect position reports to the design program's Project Manager or the Studio Coordinator. .

Tasks associated with this position include the following:

o Prepare design development, construction, bid and permit documents.
o Draft basic project schedule Gantt chart.
o Develop detailed project tasks based on project schedule and hour bank.
o Develop project ‘cartoon set’ or project plan
o Modify project task list based on weekly project summary
o Meet with clients as part of project team.
o Prepare Meeting Minutes
o Prepare project documents
o Meet, coordinate and give direction to engineers
o Review or oversee selection of FF&E
o Prepare project specifications
o Report any time or schedule concerns to project/program manager
o Review project documents prior to issuance.
o Prepare redlines and mentor junior staff and team members.


- 6-12 years of experience working in a design firm environment
- Design or Architecture related 4 year college degree
- Working knowledge of AutoCad, Revit and Microsoft Office projects.
Knowledge of Sketch-up, Photoshop and other rendering programs a plus.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Architectural licensure is encouraged.
