Projects in our studio focus on high performance, green buildings of all types including commercial, residential, institutional, and affordable housing in both new-build and renovation contexts.
ABOUT THE JOB
We are seeking a Project Architect to assist in these pursuits. More specifically this person will join a team designing and detailing what may be the first project in the Chicago region to achieve full Living Building Challenge certification.
REQUIREMENT FOR APPLICANTS
Smart, strategic, highly organized, self-starter, who shares the firm’s vision. Passion for sustainable, socially-equitable, economically-viable design.
6-9 years experience
Licensed Architect in the State of Illinois
LEED AP BD+C and/or ND accredited (minimum)
Knowledge of applicable codes, i.e. the International Building Code (IBC), Chicago Building Code (CBC)
Strong interest in sustainable building standards including the LEED Rating System, The Living Building Challenge, Passivehouse (PHIUS) and Well Building certification.
Experience in project delivery through construction including:
• Production of construction documents including drawings and specifications
• Coordination of consultant team members relative to project milestones
• Construction Administration incl. submittal/RFI review, field observation, and pay application cert.
• LEED certification documentation and administration
Proficiency in Revit Required. Expectation to work on production of drawing sets and specifications. Coordination, and technical skills, specifically related to high performance buildings.
High Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite. Ability to create beautiful graphics and presentation documents. High Proficiency in Sketchup. Ability to model and produce conceptual renderings.
Good communication, presentation, writing and editing skills.
