ML Group Design & Development, a unique design firm located in Skokie, seeks Interior Designers with 4+ years of experience. Located just outside of Chicago, ML Group has in house construction, architects and an interiors team who develop hospitality style environments and concepts for healthcare, gyms, multi-family, and luxury residential clients throughout the United States.


Interior Designer evaluates, selects, and performs in a self-directed manner all aspects of the interior design process, including preparation of presentation materials, schematic design, design development, renderings, and construction administration activities within an established budget, schedule, site, and programmatic requirements. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Independently performs assignments following instructions given by Senior Designer Under minimal supervision and guidelines, finds solutions to design and technical challenges within large projects Ensures daily tasks are completed Develops design solutions in a broader context through collaborative efforts involving outside consultants when needed Displays confidence with client interaction and seeks to develop industry relationships Assists in all coordination efforts required to produce space plans, FF&E specifications; namely the research, communication, and documentation required to execute the project effectively ATTRIBUTES AND WORK STYLE: Motivated self‐starter with the ability to work well with others in a collaborative, open-studio environment Contributes to multiple projects with varying responsibilities in a fast‐paced environment Organized, detail‐oriented, and takes pride in work Proactive problem solver with analytical skills Excellent verbal and written business communication skills DESIGN Possesses a strong understanding of design principles, theory, and trends. Displays strong creative interior design skills including concept development, selection of colors, materials, finishes and furniture Overall knowledge of the design process; including design documentation, FF&E specifications, color, materials, and finishes TECHNICAL: Modestly experienced in interior architectural development and construction detailing Strong experience in furniture/finish selection and specification writing Proficient in AutoCAD, Photoshop, and InDesign Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook Knowledge of SketchUp and Revit preferred


Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design from an accredited program Minimum 4+ years of experience in hospitality, commercial, or healthcare Interior Design
