You are a designer and manager passionate about working landscapes and enthusiastic about
collaborative relationships. You eagerly and naturally strive for a positive impact on community
and environment.
A successful candidate is self-motivated, attentive to details, and a problem-solver that adheres to
high standards of excellence and accountability while fulfilling the following primary duties:
• Own all drawings and drafting for client work from initial concept to final plans, including
construction drawings and details
• Prepare site plans, specifications and cost estimates
• Create plant palette and related materials for client presentations
• Analyze plat of survey, environmental reports on land conditions, such as drainage and
energy usage
• Manage full range of client relationship including initial meetings, design reviews and
progress reports
• Coordinate field work around major elements of design including existing and proposed
structures and features when needed
• Build strong working relationships with all architects, subcontractors and tradespeople
associated with GROUNDWORK
• Maintain photo library and project archive


Designer Requirements/ Skills
• Excellent conceptual design ability
• 5 to 10 years of relevant experience
• Completion of a professionally-accredited landscape architecture or architectural degree
program preferred
• Enthusiastic self-starter who embraces the multidisciplinary design process and is
interested in growing in the design field
• Proven knowledge in the art and practice landscape architecture
• Demonstrated experience in project management, client interface, administration, and
construction installation and management for landscape architecture
• Demonstrated ability to problem solve and manage change while meeting deadlines
• Expertise in the following software tools (AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Photoshop, InDesign)
• Love of nature
• Knowledge of zones 5-7 planting practices
• Strong attention to detail
• Roof garden experience preferred
• Driver’s license and vehicle a must
