ABOUT THE JOB

bKL Architecture is seeking an energetic and personable individual for a BIM & Technology Manager position to join and support our team of about 80 people.
bKL Architecture is an award-winning firm with projects in all stages of design and construction. Our main office is located in Chicago, with smaller satellite offices in Washington DC, Atlanta, Austin and Shanghai; with disciplines in Architecture and Interior Design. The position will include a hybrid set-up with some days working from the office and some days working remotely. The typical office hours are M-F 8:30a.m. – 5:30p.m.

Responsibilities include:
- IT coordination (for example, assisting with coordinating laptop repairs, office set-up, new hire onboarding);
- IT research (for example, implementing automated BIM360 back-ups outside of BIM360);
- Developing annual IT and technology budget
- License renewals
- License management
- Technology purchasing
- Assisting with software deployment and updates
- Keeping inventory (laptops, headsets, docking stations, etc.)
- Maintaining admin accounts (password manager)
- New tool assessment, trial and implementation
- New hire technology orientation
- Software training
- Troubleshooting and documentation (ex.: FAQs).
- Revit template maintenance
- Revit family library upgrade and family creation
- Writing documentation and guidelines (office protocols, starting a new project in Revit guideline, etc.)
- BIM-related project support (ex. Initial modeling of masonry panels for exterior wall)
- BIM360 – new project set-up and migration
- BIM360 – consultant and GC coordination
- Contract document revisions (BIM-specific)
- Organizing focused study workshops
- Presenting on technology topics during office-wide lunch-n-learns

REQUIREMENT FOR APPLICANTS

The candidate must have a background in Architecture or related fields and understand project workflows and delivery. They must have great communication skills, be highly organized, efficient, forward-thinking and be proactive in discovering and implementing new technologies and improving workflows. This individual will also be the link between the IT team and the end users and will help with IT research and troubleshooting. The candidate must be proficient in BIM360, Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), Bluebeam, Rhino, Enscape, Ideate, Newforma and be familiar with Office365 app, including Teams and Outlook.
