Thomas Shafer Architects (www.shaferarch.com) is an award winning. collaborative studio that works primarily on high end custom homes through out the United States. Our studio, which is intentionally small, enjoys a team atmosphere, and strives to solve design problems as beautifully and creatively as possible. We are focused on the delivery of elegant architectural solutions for our clients, and spend equal amounts of time in the design phases as we do on the job site during construction. We are committed to the delivery of good design and quality construction. Our firm operates out of a studio in Evanston and has provided architectural services to the custom home market of for 30 years.
ABOUT THE JOB
The architect should be a self starter who is motivated, organized, and can manage deadlines and work well in a team setting. Responsibilities include working directly with the Project Architects of the firm and integrating the drawings (both from within the office and from consultants) to Revit. They should have experience using Revit as well as the Adobe Creative Suite, and understand the working of all phases of the design process. They should feel comfortable working on a team and in client meetings. Other design responsibilities include meeting preparation, model building, competition entries, social media and web site work as well as other task associated with a small firm such as research, product library management.
REQUIREMENT FOR APPLICANTS
A professional degree in architecture from an accredited university. 1-5 years of relevant work experience, strong organizational and communication skills, technical and graphic communication skills, proficiency in Revit, Autocad, Adobe creative suites and 3-D software programs.

- Legal US work status / Fluency and comfort in written & spoken English
