ABOUT THE JOB

Projects in our studio focus on high performance, green buildings of all types including commercial, residential, institutional, and affordable housing in both new-build and renovation contexts. We are seeking an experienced Architect/Architectural Designer to assist in these pursuits.

REQUIREMENT FOR APPLICANTS

Experience:
Smart, strategic, highly organized, self-starter, who shares the firm’s vision. Passion for sustainable, socially-equitable, economically-viable design.
Professional degree in Architecture plus 4 - 6 years of relevant experience
Licensed in Illinois, or in pursuit of licensure
LEED AP and/or ND accredited
Knowledge of applicable codes including the International Building Code (IBC), Chicago Building Code (CBC)
Strong interest in sustainable building standards including the LEED Rating System, The Living Building Challenge, Passivehouse (PHIUS) and Well Building certification.
Experience in project delivery through construction including:
• Consultation in the planning, design and coordination of complex projects.
• Production of construction documents including drawings and specifications
• Coordination of consultant team members relative to project milestones
• Construction Administration including submittal/RFI review, field observation, and pay application certification
• LEED certification documentation and administration

Skills:
Proficiency in Revit Required. Expectation to work on production of drawing sets and specifications. Coordination, and technical skills, specifically related to high performance buildings.
High Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite. Ability to create beautiful graphics and presentation documents.
High Proficiency in Sketchup and/or Rhino. Ability to model and produce conceptual renderings.
Ability to provide guidance to less experienced architects.
Good communication, presentation, writing and editing skills.
