The Lean Gemba Walk

Glass Solutions Inc., 960 Maplewood Drive, Itasca, IL 60143

See Lean management in action. The Glass Solutions, Inc. Gemba Walk is a seminar on one of the key Lean management concepts of continuous improvement. Gemba, a Japanese term meaning “actual place”, in Lean management terminology refers to the act of going to the place where value is created to directly observe a project’s moving parts, from administrative or design tasks to specific construction processes, in an effort to discover opportunities to eliminate waste and improve quality. Our seminar will start with a presentation by Rich Seiler of Unified Works, Inc. who will discuss the key elements of the Gemba concept, followed by presentation by Andy Hill of Glass Solutions, Inc. (GSI) on GSI’s Lean Journey and what participants can expect to see on their Gemba walk through the facility. Click here to learn more about the Lean Construction Institute.
