Wednesday Keynote : John Ronan, FAIA founding principal of John Ronan Architects
John Ronan, FAIA, is the principal of John Ronan Architects in Chicago, founded in 1999. He serves as lead designer on all projects the office undertakes and is known for his abstract yet sensuous work which explores materiality and atmosphere.
John Ronan Architects has received two national AIA Honor Awards as well as numerous local AIA Chicago awards. In 2015, the firm was the only Chicago firm among the seven finalists for the Obama Presidential Center which will be built in Chicago’s Jackson Park. John has lectured widely, and his work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Art Institute of Chicago and The Architectural League of New York’s Urban Center.
John holds a MArch degree with distinction from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a BS degree from the University of Michigan. He is a professor at IIT College of Architecture and designer of the Ed Kaplan Family Institute for Innovation and Tech Entrepreneurship at IIT, now under construction.
