What are the design professional’s duties and limitations when providing construction contract administration services? How best to manage risks, site observation services, review of submittals, and RFI’s? The Practice Management KC welcomes attorney and architect Sue Yoakum, Esq., AIA, from the law firm Donovan |Hatem LLP (Boston) to speak about these issues.
Speaker: Sue E. Yoakum, Of Counsel to Donovan Hatem LLP, is an attorney and licensed architect with approximately 30 years of domestic and international experience in design and construction. She focuses her practice assisting design professionals by providing claims and risk management assistance, contract reviews, and other related legal services. Sue frequently presents risk management seminars. She is a liaison to the national AIA Documents Committee and wrote a chapter in the 15th edition of AIA’s The Architect’s Handbook of Professional Practice on “Risks and Emerging Practices.”
Prior to pursuing her legal career, Sue practiced architecture for ten years, focusing on large projects.
