A Conversation Between Dirk Denison, FAIA and Reed Kroloff

Crown Hall at IIT, 3360 S State St, Chicago, IL 60616

With educator/author Reed Kroloff, architect Dirk Denison, FAIA, will discuss how he has developed as an architect. Topics will include the different and sometimes conflicting perspectives he absorbed in studies at Cranbrook Academy, IIT, and Harvard Graduate School of Design, as well as other influences and passions that informed his early career.

The new ACTAR publication, Dirk Denison 10 Houses, will be used as a touchstone to illustrate how Denison synthesized a plethora of architectural influences to create a personal approach to placemaking.  Denison will describe the process of creating the monograph, which represents much of his career to date, and the key element the volume attests to:  his adherence to a set of best practices for building collaborative relationships with clients.
