AIA Trust presents a webinar for AIA members that will focus on the risks faced by architects in designing condominium projects, including residential subdivisions, common interest developments, and mixed-use projects. Importantly, it will also focus on ways to mitigate those risks.
Even during a pandemic, multifamily developments continue to be built. Condo projects are also notoriously prone to claims. Design firms must be meticulous about their risk management practices in order to avoid pitfalls and protect your practices. The presentation will offer practical approaches to manage these risks with a focus on best contract practices, suggestions for maintenance manuals and CC&R protections, and a discussion on insurance options.
The webinar will be presented by respected construction attorneys Jacqueline Pons-Bunney, Esq. and Peter Stacy, Esq., who run the AIA Trust Practice Coach service for AIA members.
Members of AIA Chicago are eligible to call Practice Coach for access to legal professionals who can help manage risks and minimize claims, whether dealing with clients, contractors, employees, or others. Practice Coach is a service of AIA Trust, geared toward smaller firms who have questions or concerns but may not be ready to engage legal counsel: risky practice scenarios including negotiating and interpreting contracts, resolving or mitigating disputes, determining when to hire a lawyer, and more.
