Beauty and Performance – Exploring the Framework for Design Excellence (CRAN Virtual Seminar Series #1)

Online

AIA’s Custom Residential Architects Network Knowledge Community (CRAN) is excited to share these sessions with you as we each look to advance our practices in this challenging and evolving environment. The CRAN® Virtual Seminar Series consists of six webinars, two sessions a month through December 2020, focusing on timely topics including working in the COVID-19 environment, social equity, and sustainability. The series was created to offer an interesting, informative, and topical set of online presentations in place of CRAN’s annual symposium, planned for Miami in October 2020.

Tate Walker, AIA, Director of Sustainability, OPN Architects Inc. (Wisconsin) introduces the AIA's Framework for Design Excellence, adopted by the AIA in 2019, which builds on the AIA COTE Top Ten Award criteria, first introduced in 1997. His session will focus on measures of Economy, Materials, and Wellness, and how these are uniquely applied to custom residential projects.

At the conclusion of each seminar, there will be a 30-minute discussion with an Andersen Windows representative about COVID-19 safety, sustainability, and social justice. This discussion does not include LUs.
