Port Imperial South 1-3

Weehawken, New Jersey / United States of America

Located in Weehawken, New Jersey opposite midtown Manhattan, the project benefits from proximity to major transportation hubs including the NY Waterways ferry terminal and the Hudson Bergen light rail station. Designed to have a commanding presence along the Hudson River, Port Imperial South 1-3 establishes new standards for sustainability, phased construction, and design excellence.

The project is intended to be constructed in two phases, which directly informed the massing of the building. The first phase of the parking garage is demarcated in the final build out through the differentiation of exterior wall types and a bridge that connects to the office building. Solar analysis studies of the project site helped to further break down the mass and identify where different types of shading devices were to be effective in order to provide a comfortable indoor environment while maintaining views and access to natural daylight.

Port Imperial South is designed to be a LEED Gold project with efficient floor plates for office layout and clear span depths. Other sustainable features include high efficiency HVAC and lighting, a green roof in accordance with the Port Imperial Green Roof Master Plan, low flow fixtures, greywater and condensate reclamation, and rainwater recapture.
