Mike’s Hard Lemonade
Chicago, Illinois / United States of America
Mike's Hard Lemonade is a top-selling malt beverage. Seeking to relocate their headquarters to Chicago, Mike's found a raw space in a redeveloped loft building. The primary architectural challenge was to most effectively harness the abundant natural light provided by two 80-foot long skylights as well as windows on four sides of the space.
Raw materials including concrete, wood and steel combine to create a sophisticated, honest environment to recruit top talent.
An angular volume created by the skylight supports dramatic branding in reception.
A wall of lemons sandwiched between two layers of glass becomes a focal point for both reception and adjacent meeting room.
The tasting room occupies the full length of one skylight, creating a striking entertainment space.
Product is effectively displayed on illuminated shelving above dual taps.
A conference room opens into the tasting room with a folding door assembly, bringing pleasure to business.
Ancillary meeting spaces are quiet, enabling the intelligent integration of technology.
Benching workstations support both collaboration and access to natural light and views.
Phone booths provide acoustic privacy when needed.
