American Medical Association

Chicago, Illinois / United States of America

IA was retained by the American Medical Association (AMA) to assist in the relocation of their headquarters in Chicago, IL to an iconic modern structure designed by Mies van de Rohe. The design incorporates an updated approach to thinking relative to team interaction and collaboration in support of the AMA's mission business goals. The design was infused with a robust program of branding and environmental graphics which allows many facets of the AMA's message to weave seamlessly into the space. Ample technology resources are also included in the new space in support of fluid communication both within AMA and with the outside world. A robust conference center has been designed to support both internal and external meetings. AMA was assisted by Jones Lang LaSalle and Core Project Management Group with brokerage and overall program management. Cost control was a significant challenge as a result. The design team established points within the process for thorough cost estimation with an understanding of material cost impacts. Consequently, the project was successfully completed under budget.
