The AIA Chicago Young Architects Forum (YAF) is a group of emerging professionals in the architecture and design industry, supported by the American Institute of Architects, who are interested in furthering the discussion of design, professional development, and collaboration within our community. If you are a young designer (under 40) join us for intriguing social and educational events.

ARE 5.0 One-Day Review Course

AIA Chicago offers a two-part review class for ARE 4.0 classes on Thursday, February 1 and 8, from 6:00 to 8:30 pm. We will need at least 10 participants to hold the class so sign up NOW if you are interested - and invite a friend to join you! Registration closes on Friday, January 26, at 5:00 pm.

YAF Tour & Social: GREC Architects & Jake Melnick's Corner Tap

Join the Young Architects Forum for a tour of GREC Architects, a world-class, national studio of diverse experts known for redefining environments by employing responsive, artistic and integrated architectural methods. Based in Chicago, GREC develops meaningful solutions by creating experiences for people where they live, work and play. GREC specializes in sectors including hospitality, high-rise residential, commercial and mixed-use, and interior design for corporate environments. After the tour we'll head to grab a drink at Jake Melnick's Corner Tap. If you can't make the tour, meet us at the bar around 7:30 pm. Jake Melnick's Corner Tap is located at 41 E Superior St.

AEC Virtual Reality Workflow with Datasmith Toolkit for Unreal Engine

Anthony Viola, AIA - Dubin Young Architect Award Receipient

Come to the Chicago Design Museum in Block 37 to hear from Anthony Viola, AIA, the 2017 Recipient of the Dubin Young Architect Award. Anthony, who works at Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill, seeks to find new ways to realize a project using low-tech methods—such as 3D physical models—and high-tech processes like advanced computer simulations.
