Anthony Cristiano Salon Winner

Interior Architecture Award, Honor Award

Located at the mezzanine level of the Trump Tower, the Anthony Cristiano Salon peers across a dramatic and unique view of the Chicago River as it meanders through the bustling city streets and bridges -all juxtaposed against the clean crisp minimalist salon interior.

DMAC Architecture worked with the Cristiano team to develop the 3,400 square foot salon into a distinctive salon ideal for the client and stylist. The warm woods reference the comforts of home while contrasting against the clean lines and bold white volume that in itself frames the views that only the Trump Tower Chicago can offer. This monochromatic palette helps designate the functional difference between a cut, white leather chair, and a coloring, black leather chair. These 24 stations are divided up evenly between cutting and coloring stations utilizing frameless mirrors which are strategically placed creating an infinity of views, while the adjacent Chicago River anchors the experience back to reality.

A heavy consideration to detail and yet a minimalistic approach allowed DMAC and the Anthony Cristiano Salon to put hair styling as the priority of this space.
