Rosemont Corporate Center

Distinguished Building Award Submission

Rosemont Corporate Center (RCC) was developed for the new Chicago-land headquarters of CISCO. The site was chosen for proximity to O’Hare, highway visibility, and LEED features were driven by the tenant and supported by the developer. The design of this four-story building was driven by efficiency, sustainability and economic parameters, with an emphasis on bridging the gap between hospitality and office design. Many of the finishes and fixtures in the common areas are warm and inviting, replicating finishes you would find in high-end hospitality. The architectural fin used on the exterior breaks up the glass and provides a visual element to guide employees and visitors to the entry.

RCC features open and column-free floor-plates which are easily divisible for multiple tenants. The design utilized architectural precast concrete and standard window wall systems to create a visually pleasing, yet cost-effective solution. Energy efficiency and indoor air quality were high on the priority list of green initiatives. The air is delivered through an under floor air plenum which allows you to deliver the energy more efficiently. This was done in conjunction with floor-to-ceiling glass to maximize day-lighting opportunities for the tenants. The building has achieved LEED Gold-CS Certification.
