Overview

With its sights on LEED certification, the design team focused on reusing existing materials when designing this office space. Offering a lesson in reincarnation, material from this 1920s bank building was spared the scrap pile and instead given new life. Marble from the corridors became tables, desks and countertops; patterned glass office doors became the office's library and conference room walls. The redesign brought natural daylight to all workstations. And reupholstering pre-owned modern furniture in bright colors took the chairs from dated to contemporary. Jurors pronounced the workspace "youthful."
