A sunken courtyard illuminated by skylights recalls secret garden imagery and asserts that childrens spaces neednt look like a toy box. Jurors deemed magical a maple cabinet wallalmost featureless when closedthat unfolds in pleated panels to engage space and create imaginary rooms. A stage, a puppet playhouse, and tables for story-based art programs are revealed in a way that gives kids credit for having intelligence.
