While the massing of this 88-story tower recalls traditional Chinese pagoda forms, its skin is a state-of-the-art curtain wall comprised of high-performance glass and an expressed exterior stainless steel mullion system. A juror described it as "an extraordinary use of today’s technology and building materials to create a fabric, texture and detailing that relate to the historic and cultural values of the context."
