This is "the factory of the future" in the opinion of the jury. An acoustically isolated glass wall is the only element that separates the manufacturing area from the office, conference and common areas. The exterior of the factory has 35-foot high glass walls that provide abundant natural light as well as views of the beautiful site, located between two rivers in the north woods of Wisconsin. A solar coating on the glass cuts direct light by 80 percent to reduce the glare for press operators. The elements of transparency and natural light emphasize the connection between management and production and express the company’s innovative character.
