The bank wanted an environment that was informal and accessible but also professional. Located in a long, narrow storefront, the bank includes several features that position it as an active participant in the local academic community: a customer lounge, a free E-mail station, a community meeting room, and a travel agency with a separate street entrance. The jury felt that the designers were very successful in conveying the bank's desired image and especially admired the inventive way in which the plan met the challenges posed by the unusual dimensions of the space.
