Temple Hoyne Buell Hall houses the graduate schools of architecture, landscape architecture, and urban planning at the University of Illinois's Urbana-Champaign campus. Perkins & Will designed the building to encourage interdisciplinary teaching between the three schools, which were previously housed in separate buildings.

The building consists of two rectilinear volumes of studio spaces juxtaposed against a curvilinear section that contains faculty offices. Clear circulation accommodates interaction between students and faculty along bridges and open corridors that connect the studios and faculty offices. The building volumes form an interior gathering space-the heart of the building-that flows under the section of the building containing offices to an exterior sunken courtyard. This project received praise from the jury for the successful interaction between forms and for a plan and section that are easy to understand.
