Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP provided the site design; hotel, land-based entertainment pavilion, and parking garage design for the Riverport Casino Center; and served as coordinating architect for the graphics, lighting, and building services consultants. The casino utilizes inexpensive materials that are playfully composed and vibrantly colored to create a series of overlapping textures, colors, and patterns. The jurors were favorably impressed with how the casino center operates architecturally, which "a lot of these themed things don't."
