This 8400-square-foot single-family home is situated on its lot to focus on an established flower garden. The house is resolutely modern, but its facade incorporates elements which echo the other houses in the neighborhood. The exterior features teak wood windows, panels and trim. The bulk of the house is smooth finish limestone masonry over a steel frame.
The interior also features limestone masonry, as well as wood paneling, drywall/plaster, and natural stone. The first floor contains the living spaces; the second floor contains a master bedroom suite and a family room; the third floor contains the children's bedrooms, a playroom and a guest quarters. The penthouse and stair systems allow natural light to reach the interior. An interior stair along the east wall begins at the first floor and finishes at a penthouse/roof deck. This stair travels up along a masonry wall, and creates a gallery space for an art collection.
