A dynamic curve and freestanding black granite signage slab greets visitors into a 4000-square-foot conference center and reception area with a panoramic view of Chicago's lakefront. Black, white and cream granites are used in the floor pattern to direct visitors to the international style conference-reception area. Nine five-foot wide center-pivot glass panels provide separation, but when open allow for large social gatherings. A series of splayed curly maple gallery walls fuses a Chicago artist theme with the reception area.
In the office areas, full height glass offices allow total visual access to staff workstations. ThirtyÐsix foot high partitions separate individual workstations, which encourages both visual and verbal communication. Systems workstations of only two types and sizes encourages relocation of personnel rather than furniture. Systems can also be easily reconfigured, and accommodate varied pieces of equipment. Workstations with hinged panels and 18,000 square feet of raised floor facilitate wire management of state-of-the-art equipment.
