Function, flexibility, ease of communication and employee comfort were the objectives of this mortgage guaranty insurance company. Custom designed workstations occupy alternate sides of the 30,000-square-foot office structure, offering views and an abundance of natural light to the majority of the staff. Fixed workstation spines accommodate lighting, power, telecommunications, data, filing and storage. Freestanding desks can be moved along the spine enabling users to reconfigure conveniently for maximum flexibility. Opaque glass workwalls divide work spaces from offices and create a subtle sense of privacy. The warm neutral palette of wood and aluminum is augmented by natural and indirect lighting which together create an understated atmosphere.
