Making No Small Plans: Learning from New York City
What can Chicago learn from the complex and very public planning effort to rebuild the area devastated by the destruction of the World Trade Center? On Saturday, June 28 at 1:00 p.m., Alexander Garvin, former vice president planning, design and development of the Lower Manhattan Development Corp., will share his experience and insights. After his lecture, a panel consisting of Thomas Beeby, FAIA of Hammond Beeby Rupert Ainge Inc.; Linda Searl, FAIA of Searl and Associates; Marilyn Thomas, FAIA of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP; Blair Kamin of the Chicago Tribune; and Lee Bey, deputy chief of staff to Mayor Richard Daley, will respond to his comments.
